  20. SUMMARY:
  21.  
  22. Provide customer training on products, with emphasis on C++ data
  23. structures, relational database access, and Motif.  
  24.  
  25. Prepare course materials as needed and tune existing materials for
  26. specific customer circumstances.  Collaborate with product engineering
  27. in order to improve course content and improve the clarity of the
  28. standard manuals.
  29.  
  30. Provide consulting to customers using company products.  As a
  31. consultant, responsibility shall include technical definition of the
  32. scope of the work, project completion within the appropriate time
  33. frame, and communication of progress and the results.  
  34.  
  35. Collaborate with engineering where appropriate in order to help get
  36. standard products get to market more quickly, be more portable, better
  37. designed, better implemented and more widely applicable to the
  38. marketplace.

  40. In both roles, emphasize customer satisfaction.

  42. JOB DUTIES:
  43.  
  44. Work with training coordinator to provide training courses to
  45. customers. Work alone and with engineering to improve and supplement
  46. existing course materials.
  47.  
  48. Define technical scope of consulting projects, adapt project
  49. definition to meet changing circumstances and evolving understandings,
  50. and deliver identifiable benefits to the customer.
  51.  
  52. Advise customers on the use of products. Write, test and debug
  53. software related to customer's needs. Report progress on a regular
  54. basis. Identify and report new business and development opportunities.
  55. Available for travel. Can be based out of Mountain View, CA, Chicago,
  56. Atlanta or New York. Possibly also Denver.

  58. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  59.  
  60. Knowledge of  C++, products and object oriented concepts.
  61.  
  62. Organizational skills relevant to classroom logistics and course
  63. presentation.
  64.  
  65. Good communication skills; ability to interact with customers. 
  66.  
  67. Knowledge of the technology relevant to the client's environment.
  68.  
  69. Cross-platform development.
  70.  
  71. Ability to critique other people's work in a constructive and
  72. productive way.
  73.  
  74. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  75.  
  76. MS or Ph.D. are desirable. BS or equivalent required.
  77. At least 8 years of experience in software development. At least 2
  78. years of experience in object oriented design and C++ programming.
